Rosie J. Rope of Bylas passed away on June 19, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on September 24, 1931, to Rudolph Hudson Jordan & Tessie Diamond with siblings Ida, Katie, Delbert, Belmont, Preston, and Genevieve.
She attended Bylas Day School where she had many friends. She married Evans Rope, Sr., in Bylas and the couple was blessed with several children; Rose, Dave Sr., Evan Jr., Carrie, Johnny, Lariat, Evelyn, and Melvalena.
Rosie was a homemaker and enjoyed making her own camp dresses. She could always be found praying morning, noon, and evening. She loved attending church and spreading the word of God. She loved being with her grandchildren and read her Bible everywhere she traveled with her husband, Evans.
In 1998, she became a Co-Pastor at the Bylas 2nd Miracle Church, and that same year, she and Evans traveled to Jerusalem to walk where Jesus walked. She was very faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ. Some of her favorite quotes were “Without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:15), and “Love one another”.
She had a great sense of humor and she liked to tell jokes. There was never a dull moment with Rosie. And even though she was fun to be around and always funny, she always told it like it was. She was a loving, strong, and faithful woman of God.
Rosie is survived by her loving husband Evans Rope, Sr. her children Rose Marie Rope, Dave (Ingrid) Rope, Sr., Evan (Nancy) Rope, Jr., Carrie Rope (Gregory) Smithson, Johnny (Ruth) Rope, Evelyn Rope (Sam) Hinton, and Melvalena (Jonathan) Kitcheyan. She is also survived by 28 Grandchildren, 68 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
Rosie is preceded in death by her son Lariat Rope, Sr., her siblings Ida Jordan, Katie Jordan Thomas, Delbert Jordan, Sr., Preston Jordan, Belmont Jordan, Sr., and Genevieve Jordan Pina, 3 Grandchildren, and her parents Rudolph Hudson Jordan & Tessie Diamond Jordan
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Navajo Point Cemetery at a later date.
The family asks that the public respect their wishes for a private funeral service as they are trying to protect the elderly family members who will be in attendance.
