Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Emilio Rios Rojas, passed away on May 23, 2022, at the age of 91. Emilio was born on February 13, 1931, in Sanchez, Arizona to Benjamin Rojas & Carmen Rios Rojas.
Emilio attended school in Morenci Arizona. In 1950 Emilio enlisted in the United States Army and served until his tour of duty ended in 1952. On September 10, 1952, Emilio married Josephine Baray and together they raised their 5 children; Maria, Emilio, Marty, Joanne, and Kathy. They were married 69 years.
Through the years, aside from loving and raising his children, Emilio was employed by Phelps Dodge Corporation from which he retired in 1983. He worked as a bus driver for the Clifton Schools for many years.
He loved spending time with family and friends. Camping was one of his favorite pastimes and having fun dancing with Kini at the Clifton Social Club.
Emilio showed his faith in our Lord in his daily walk through life. It was plainly evident that each day he made a choice to trust in God and no matter what came his way, he remained steadfast and confident that God would carry him and all those he loved.
He is survived by his children Maria (Fred) Barquín, Emilo B. Rojas, Marty (Norma) Rojas, Joanne (Tony) Vozza, and Kathryn (Mario) Najar, 18 Grandchildren, and 25 Great-Grandchildren.
Emilio was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Josephine and his parents, Benjamin and Carmen Rojas.
The Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Sacred Heart Parish in Clifton with the Mass of a Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
