Dan and his family spent the first three years of his life in Utah. For the next three years of his life, because of his Dad’s work, they moved to Moscow, Idaho; Rock Springs, Wyoming and Gallup, New Mexico. In 1981, the family made its final move to Safford, Arizona. Dan loved growing up in Safford.
Dan attended Dorothy Stinson School, Lafe Nelson School, Safford Jr. High and graduated from Safford High in May of 1993. During his school years he loved to play basketball. In high school, Dan found the joy of skateboarding.
Dan’s work career began early. He delivered newspapers for the Arizona Republic when he was in junior high school. In high school, Dan bagged groceries at Thriftee Market. As an adult, Dan worked for Dave Cluff in his landscaping business for several years. Dan had a tremendous work ethic engrained in him by his Dad and nurtured by Dave Cluff. Dan was a kind, gentle and sensitive person. He never knew a stranger. He liked everyone and accepted people for who they were. Dan was mischievous all of his life. Please remember Dan as a kind gentle spirit who may have touched your life briefly or for a long time.
