Odis BurdittOctober 11, 1936 ~ June 29, 2017 (age 80)
Odis Ray Burditt, 80, of Pima, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at home in Pima with his family at his side. He was born October 11, 1936 in Lone Star, Arizona to Charles Clavert & Linnie Brown Burditt.
“Odie” worked in Sanchez doing farm work for many years. He then went to work for Tom Johnson doing mechanic work until he moved with his family to Mesa to work for Minneapolis Molon where he worked for 7 years after which he moved back to Pima. He then worked for himself in the scrap metal business. After a few years he went to work for Aaron Ford until they closed then worked for John Deere and worked there for several years. Later, he worked for the Town of Pima until he retired in July of 2009.
He loved to sing and play the guitar and played music all around the valley. Everyone knew he loved to camp and that they could find him out at Cedar Springs all summer long. While camping he loved spending time with family and friends, singing around the campfire, playing dominoes and quarters. Odie knew so many people and everyone will always remember him for his long stories and the many jokes he would tell.
Odie leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Carol (York) Burditt, his daughters; Vicki Morgan, Deana Foster and Valerie Contreras and son Verdane Burditt, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his beloved dogs; Boots and Patched, his parents, 2 sisters, 3 sons-in-law, 2 granddaughters and 1 great-granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
